The Chelsea Pensioners in Conversation
Royal Hospital Chelsea - State Apartments
Join Lieutenant Colonel Jonny Lowe MBE, Captain at the Royal Hospital, in conversation with Chelsea Pensioners as they discuss their service history and life in the Royal Hospital.
The Royal Hospital is not only a beautiful architectural legacy left to us by King Charles II and Sir Christopher Wren, it has been home to the iconic Chelsea Pensioners for over 300 years.
Today, some 300 Army veterans live at the Royal Hospital. Some have fought in campaigns, including Korea, the Falkland Islands, Cyprus, Northern Ireland and the Second World War. Others may not have served in conflicts, but they all understand what it means to be a soldier and the potential sacrifice it entails.
Join Lieutenant Colonel Jonny Lowe MBE as he talks to some of the Royal Hospital’s scarlet-coated residents about their service history and find out about life as a Chelsea Pensioner.
